Hi,
Need help with below problem. I need to find on an average, how many critical reviews did the movies receive(rounded to nearest integer)?
I used summarized tool to find average but output doesn't look right. Do I need to apply any logic before I use the summarize tool?
Name2 | Number_of_Critical_Reviews | Rating | Year |
A Fantastic Woman | 215 | 93% | 2018 |
A Ghost Story | 265 | 91% | 2017 |
A Man Called Ove | 112 | 90% | 2016 |
A Monster Calls | 257 | 86% | 2017 |
A Quiet Passion | 169 | 92% | 2017 |
A Quiet Place | 364 | 95% | 2018 |
A Star Is Born | 496 | 90% | 2018 |
A War | 92 | 91% | 2016 |
Abacus Small Enough to Jail | 95 | 93% | 2017 |
Aferim | 40 | 98% | 2016 |
After the Storm | 132 | 96% | 2017 |

Hi @aparna0208
Is that the raw data? Using the summarize tool just to average the number of critical reviews seems to give the correct answer of 203 (you can further round in a formula tool). You could also group by year to get the average by year. You shouldn't have to do anything special to get this to work, what seems off with your results?

Hey @Luke_C - thanks for your inputs:)
I just realized what I did. I added two columns in summarize tool where one is average on the critical reviews data and group by on movie names. When I did this I was getting the output as seen in my example with data in both columns. I deleted the group by function and just did average on critical reviews column and got the output as 193.52. I think probably now I got the correct output
