I am running into an interesting problem when I try to remove overlapping spatial objects with layered drive time minutes.
Normally, I have two locations that are within each other's spatial object, but I don't need the overlap. I use the spatial process tool to "cut" the spatial object to remove the overlap. This seems to work okay if there are only two objects. As I add spatial objects to the map (For example, three objects in a row), the number of cuts begins to grow exponentially. Object A is cut by Object B, Object B is cut by Objects B and C, and Object C is cut by Object B.
Is there a simpler way of doing this?
Do you have a workflow to show to as it would be simpler to trouble shoot it?
Sorry I'm a half a year late. Have you tried the "eliminate overlap" from the radius tool? But if you are using the drivetime tool I'd suggest the Non Overlap Drivetime tool. The non-overlapping drivetime tool takes a while. I use a smaller grid than the default - makes it less "blocky". Hope that helps.
