I just deleted an older version of Alteryx that was still on my computer -- using the Settings/Apps/Uninstall process.
I still have the latest version of Alteryx installed (Admin version).
I can open files through Alteryx, but I could not open an Alteryx file in Finder (sorry Explorer) by double clicking it.
I was able to go into Settings/Apps/Default App and manually force YXMD, YXMC, YXZP etc. to be associated with Alteryx.
BUT, now all my Alteryx files use the generic Alteryx icon instead of their unique icons.
How can I restore the unique icons for YXMD vs. YXDB etc.?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Maybe you need to uninstall the newer one and reinstall it?
Or before that try below.
Hold the shift key while right click on the alteryx file.
@Quim This is my actual problem. All my Alteryx file types are now using the defaul App icon instead of their own respective file type icons (as in your image). Will try to re-install.
@Qiu Uninstall and install did not work. No joy. I hate Windows. Easy fix in macOS. Any ideas?
Got frustrated after un/re-install failed. Tried Open With again and have had some success forcing XYDB, YXMC, and YXWG into their default icons. YXMD and YXMZ are still stuck with the default Alteryx icon app for now. windows (ugh!). i want native M1/M2 Apple support.
Sorry about that.
For now, I dont think any other ways we can restore the default settings. 😐
