I saw a couple post relating to this but they are 3-4 years old. I have two streams pulled from two different files. If one were to be empty (expected) how do I have it so that the workflow keeps going and doesnt stop at the union? Also say I was merging 3 or 4 different data streams and one was merging how can I still get it to continue?
Your flow should continue processing, even if one of the inputs is null. What you may be running into is if there are different field names in the 2 data sources. You can fix this by setting the Properties to "Ignore - Continue Processing Records" in the union tool.
I have it to ignore - continue Processing Records
yet the stream does not continue.
@Aviator0807 Can you upload your flow as well as an example data. It'd help with answering why it's not flowing downstream.
Hi @Aviator0807
Tried unioning with records, without and totally blank/empty sheet...it continues downstream
I was able to recreate the issue. The problem, in my case, was unrelated to the Union tool itself. Rather, it was related to the stream of data coming into it (or supposed to be coming into it) having an error associated with it. This kept it from continuing to process and send data through.
Was there a resolution to this? I tried setting the Union Configuration to 'Ignore - Continue Processing Records' but the workflow still errors out as 'The input "#3" was not initialized.'
