Hello,
I am trying to produce an Excel output with multiple tabs that will be stored in SharePoint. However, using the SharePoint Output Tool and I am not able to get the desired result. The best I was able to achieve was to produce 2 separate Excel files. Like mentioned above, I would like to have them in 1 Excel file with multiple tabs. I am not sure whether it is doable with SharePoint or not. I attached the workflow here for review. Please assist. Thank you.
I remember this thread addressing it - does this help? Solved: SharePoint output tool- create new Excel file and ... - Alteryx Community
Yes, I saw the same thread. I tried using the Control Container Tool without success. I also tried following Gawa's instructions, but it does not really work for me as the Summary Tab and the Full Table tab are conveying different information. As a result, the instructions do not work neither. Do you have another approach I can try? Thanks.
Sorry, I tried to respond to you but just posted my response above.
I am sorry, I don't have another approach - if they convey different information, then two SharePoint Output tools are your easiest solution
Alright, thank you.
You can still output to different tabs in the same file - what has been the issue with setting the same file / different tabs?
Yes, I can output to different tabs in the same file using a formula tool for the path and then a regular output tool, but that will require outputting to a local drive or a network drive. That defeats the purpose of what we are trying to achieve as the company is going away from the network drives. Everything is moving to SharePoint. So, we are trying to see if we can produce the multiple excel tabs output in SharePoint as we are normally able to, using the regular output tool. But I don't think the formula tool works in using SharePoint Output tool unless I am mistaken. But that's why I need guidance, if it is possible to achieve a multiple tab output in SharePoint. Thank you.
I understand, but I am confused - are you saying you are unable to specify a different tab in the same file in each SharePoint Output tool you have?
I am able to configure the SharePoint output tool. However, it is printing separate files instead of adding a tab. So, maybe my configuration is incorrect but I have tried different configurations, and this is the one that actually prints both files. When I tried overwriting for example, it only prints one file and I get an error for the second file. Please see the attached screenshots below. Thanks.
