I have launched Alteryx Designer 2024.1.1.49 Patch 1 as Administrator on Windows 11. When I try to open SharePoint_py3.10_v2.6.3.yxi, I receive an error stating that the file is not a supported install type. I'm on a deadline to finish a workflow and I need to access files saved on SharePoint. Please help.
It doesn't appear that my situation is exactly like the other poster. My icon does show up correctly. However, I was not able to rename the file to .zip and extract the files. I attempted to download the file again but I receive the same error.
I have downloaded all the versions back to 2.6.0 and they all give me the same error when trying to open them.
are you running your designer in regular or admin? is it a virutal environment (ie a mac/vmware). do you have permission to install python packages locally? that's what I'd probably look at next.
I'm running as administrator directly on my laptop. I have the ability to install software on this computer. I would tend to disagree that the issue lies there. Why would Alteryx give me an error about the install files being the wrong type if the problem wasn't with Designer's ability to read .yxi files? The error states that Designer doesn't see that file as a valid file to install.
A .yxi is an Alteryx speciifc zip file (zip with installer). that's it. you can open it with unzip. I believe I send the link on how to install that way earlier. if not - you can google and find it. If you can unzip the .yxi on your system - you can get to the .yxmc and folder structure which are key to this macro. If you can add the macro to your workflow and it works - voila - you are done. If Alteryx isnt' able to open your .yxi - 1) it could be alteryx needs to be in your enviromental paths and isn't. Or somethign weird. I'd recommend trying with a different .yxi.
I'd also recommend trying with a different version of alteryx say 2023.X or 2022.3?
I tried renaming the files to .zip and extracting them which did not work either. Windows tells me that it can't open the folder when I double-click on it. When I right-click and select extract, it tells me that the compressed folder is empty. If tried that with several versions of the SharePoint yxi as well as the OneDrive yxi and they all give me the same errors.
Specifics. which veresion of Sharepoint tool. which version of Alteryx do you have. Which version of Windows do you have.when I download 2.6.3 and I look at the .yxi in 7-zip I can see various js and python files and an .html wrapper.
