Alteryx Tool Installer Issue (.yxi file type)

Hello,

I'm having an issue in regard to a .yxi file type. The issues are outlined below:

1. My laptop is not recognizing that it is an Alteryx tool installer file. Instead in the file explorer, the icon is just the normal blue Alteryx icon instead of the orange installer icon.

2. When I double click on the .yxi file, I get the following error message: " 'sample.yxi' is not a supported install type."

Any help on this error, would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @gianna_albano - If yxi is not associated with Alteryx Designer, you can open Designer and then File->Open Workflow->Browse or simply Ctrl+O. Then you can find your installation file and run it.

Hi @gianna_albano, I ran into this same issue today. Turns out my .yxi file was corrupted. You can test to see if it's corrupted or not by changing the file extension to .zip and unzipping with your standard unzipping tool. My unzipping tool gave me the same error message as Alteryx. I re-downloaded the .yxi and was able to install as expected.
