Is there a way to export the output of the same workflow to two different tabs of the excel file alteryx?
PS: Would appreciate if the solution snippets were pasted as i am out of my trial version of alteryx
Hi @hegdepavithra10,
For my best knowledge Alteryx don't have a functionality like this.
I think in order to make it work you need to use the layout tool and render them both at the same time.
So maybe try creating two tables instead of just one?
@messi007 The part i am unclear with , how will i export both to the same excel file ,but different sheets using this method?
Hi @hegdepavithra10 ,
I believe I forgot that you want to have them on different spreadsheets.
It looks like @messi007 provided you with a working solution for your problem.
You can choose the sheet name as well by adding the sheet name then add it as a section break:
Attached the workflow
Regards,
@messi007 Shouldnt basic table tool be a input to block until done tool? and then the output of block until done 's output connected to layout and then render tool?
It depends of what you want to do. But yes like you said will work as well.
If this solves your issue please mark the answer as correct if you don't mind 🙂
Regards,
Hi @messi007
This solution is not working. I am not able to save the different outputs onto same excel and different tabs. It will overwrite the sheet
Is there a different solution to this?
@atcodedog05 could you help with wtthis?
@messi007 did give a workflow as example
Lets me use the same example add some detailed explanation.
Case 1:
SheetNames are Sheets of output tool. And there 2 sheets from Render Tool (after table tool) and 2 sheets from output tool.
And the order set is 1st Render Tool is executed and 2nd Output Tool is executed.
Case 2:
In this case i have configured Block Until Tool to execute 1st Output Tool first and then 2nd Render Tool.
And as you can see the Sheets in out are only from Render Tool.
So basically Whenever you use Render Tool it overwrites the file. Hence we need to use Render Tool first and the Output Tool.
That might answer why its overwriting 🙂
You can experiment with this attached workflow.
Hope this helps 🙂 Feel to ask if you have any questions
