Union tool creating duplicate columns

Hello,

It was my understanding the union tool would two columns, with the same name together and bring that data into one column. Instead it's creating two columns:

For example

Workflow 1: Column Title: Unit

Workflow 2: Column Title: Unit

Insert Union tool between Workflow 1 and 2

Results: 2 columns: Unit and Unit2

What I have tried to resolve this:

1. Make sure the columns are the same datatype

2. Cleanse for spaces

3. Setting the Union tool to manual to chane the layout

hi! Check the Header/column names if one of them got trailing white spaces @akateman 

so for example:
Column

 Column

They might look the same but the 2nd one has a space before the word column.
