This macro makes it easy to perform data accuracy tests in your workflows.
The basic mechanics of the macro are the user can either specify:
(i) A test condition for example [Ship Date] < [Order Date], and filter out the results which meet the condition; or
(ii) Override the expression using a checkbox in the macro configuration, allowing the user to easily pass all data through the macro without needing to delete the tool; or
(iii) Update a workflow question, to globally override all Filter test macros present in the workflow, saving the user time so they don't need to individually override each individual macro.
How to use the macro:
- Insert the macro into your workflow where you want to perform your test
- Enter a test expression in the text box, for example [Ship Date] < [Order Date] (you don't expect items to have shipped before the order is placed!)
- If you want to override the test, then check the box
- When using multiple filter tests within a workflow, there is a way to globally override the test, to do this:
1) Add a text box interface tool in the main (outer workflow)
2) In the configuration window for the text box, select annotation and change the name of the text box to GlobalOverride
3) Then in the main workflow configuration (click on the canvas), there will now be a question called GlobalOverride. Set the value to False if you don't want to override the configuration of the individual macro (the default) or update this to True if you want to override the configuration of each Filter test macro.
