Rows only for particular cells

Hi everyone,

I am having 3 requirements here:

1. Highlighting the rows only for particular group.

2. Merging the columns under same header name.

3.Multiple colors for the multiple headers

Can anyone please help me how to achieve this. Thank you so much in advance!!

Hi @Pravallika20

If we need a bit of a fancy report. We need to do a lot of trial and error using reporting tools. Here is a sample walkthrough on how you can do it.

Row merge cells: To merge cells, you need to create the table with rows that are not merged and group by on columns that need to be merged. Later pass the output(group by column still present and other columns are in table) into another table to get the merge cell effect.

Column merge cells: To add merge column names you need to create the table. Deselect show heading or keep it selected as per requirement. Use a text tool and add it as the column name on top of the table using union tool. Pass this into the table tool again to get the merge column effect.

Note: not all excel formatting is possible in Alteryx and requires a lot of trial & error to get the desired format.

Hope this helps 🙂
