Connecting Alteryx to Google BigQuery

Hello Alteryx community! I'm running into some issues trying to connect Alteryx to Google BigQuery, and am hoping someone out there can help.

To connect to Google BigQuery, my client has provided me with two service account json files that are supposed to provide me access to two data areas from which I am supposed to pull data into Alteryx. (Note that I am using Designer 2024.2, and as of 2024.1, Alteryx supports BigQuery JSON Key-file Authentication.)

When I upload the json key file used for service account authentication and test the connection, Alteryx tells me “Connection test succeeded.” However, I am then greeted by this “Choose Table or Specific Query” window with the following blank pages:

As I am unfamiliar with Google BigQuery and this window, I am unsure of what I am supposed to see here and how any of this is supposed to work, and I haven’t found anything in the Alteryx Community addressing this particular issue unfortunately. It seems that there used to be a Google BigQuery tool that was deprecated and the only options now are connecting via DCM or ODBC. I’ve tried the ODBC option, but because the Google BigQuery DSN is a System DSN, I need Administrator privileges to run it, which I do not have. So, it seems that connecting via DCM is my only viable option.

Does anyone out there have experience connecting Alteryx to Google BigQuery, and if so could you assist? I seem to be at a standstill. Thank you so much!

Can you confirm that the service account user has permission to BQ? on the first screen image - if you hit refresh - you should sync the metadata between  what tables/views your user can see to Alteryx. That is not happening. Either there is a problem with Alteryx (I don't use this tool. I use BQ. I use Alteryx - not togethether - and not with GCP service account credentials) --- or there is a problem with your user permissioning in GCP.
