Hi,
I understand that you can create a Tableau data extract using the output data node but would there be a way to directly publish the data onto a Tableau server (i.e. using the Tableau Server as a database)?
Any help is appreciated - thanks

Hi,
Check out the Alteryx Tools for Tableau from the Information Lab.

Thanks - I actually tried downloading it already but I couldn't run it without administrative access on my work laptop so I was hoping there was a more official Alteryx kit for it?
Interesting to know. I planned to test this out at work tomorrow. :-) I'll let you know if I learn anything new. Then again, you may get a more useful reply via these forums before then.

Hi HM,
That tool was created for Tableau v8 and Alteryx v9. I know that Alteryx is in the process of creating an offical tool for this but I don't know when release is (I thought it was meant to be at TC15 in October)
Cheers
There is a new kit that was released, but the functionality to publish directly to a Tableau Server is not in there.
As @paul_houghton mentioned, the Alteryx Product team is in development of this functionality (I believe they are fairly close, but there are some record limitations from the Tableau API they are still working through).
Alteryx has released a new macro to publish to Tableau Server if you run Alteryx 10.1 and higher:

I covered the topic of uploading workflows from Alteryx to Tableau here:
I hope that helps,
