Please attach the workflow. Otherwise, the block until done tool simply helps try to control the output order of parts of your workflow - it may be worth looking at the example in designer to help understand it as well!

Not sure by what you mean to explain it. This tool is very self explanatory.

The tool has one input and 3 outputs.
Output one will be active until it will arrive to its end.
When Output1 is done, output 2 get into action.
And then the third.

This letting you synchronize your WF, ensuring that some part of the automation will be completed before another one will get into operation. Sometimes you need to complete one action before the next one will start to work.

Without this tool Alteryx is processing everything on the same time.
