The answer would differ based on when you apply the "current year" filter. If you take the latest year for a country where the number of males is greater than that of females and then apply the current year filter, you would get the result as shown in the original post.
But if the sequence of filters is altered, we would get the result as explained by @Blake. As we are supposed to take the latest year( in past ), we should apply the current year filter before applying the other filter (number of male > number of female).

Way to land Answer1 @AkimasaKajitani with the 'Consecutive' column as a filter.  I'm still not sure what that's trying to show, but you got it.

Because it was written that the "last year", I filtered by using "consecutive" field.
It is to find out that if there are continuously more men than women at 2020.
