So the API stopped working on the 1st of October, and has been replaced with the FDC API. However, despite following the documentation I could not get this to work. So instead I used Alteryx to download the entire FDC dataset and then worked from there.

My answer was slightly different as I had to manually lookup the FDCID, and there were sometimes more than one per candy name. It's still a lot of calories though 🙂
