Hi, Dallas/Fort Worth Alteryx User Group members!  Join us for our upcoming September virtual meeting on Friday, September 27th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Central time!  We will have two presentations:  One on a fascinating spatial analytics process to develop a puzzle, and the other on building Analytic Apps using the Interface toolset.

Alteryx ACE David Pansegrouw, @DavidP , Dublin, Ireland user group leader, will present a very cool workflow that utilizes advanced spatial processing to generate a puzzle template.  He presented this topic at the Inspire conference this year, and wowed audiences with the intricate details and the application of spatial concepts.  As an ACE, David can also answer questions regarding various other advanced aspects of Alteryx, so feel free to bring additional ideas to discuss!

Next, I will present how to build Analytic Apps, starting with basic workflows, and using the Interface toolset to convert the workflow to an app that allows you or an end user to enter criteria and obtain results on an ad hoc basis.  Analytic Apps are highly beneficial in those scenarios where multiple users are requesting different subsets of data (for example, one user requires Q1 data and another wants Q4 data from the same dataset).  Apps are also useful when you receive numerous ad hoc requests for results based on the same data source, such as entering an address and receiving a report for the surrounding area, then entering a different address, generating a new report, and so on.  Analytic Apps are often used with Alteryx Server, but you can also share them with other Designer Desktop users (or make them for yourself and gain some time savings!).

To RSVP, please click "Register" at the top right on our calendar event at DFW Alteryx User Group September 2024 Meeting! - Alteryx Community; a Zoom meeting link will be provided to you upon registration.  Join us for an afternoon of learning, Q&A sessions, and getting to know other Alteryx users!  We look forward to seeing you there!

Hi, everyone!  Thank you to all who attended our September Alteryx User Group meeting; we had excellent attendance, and lots of great questions from our members during the sessions!

I presented a how-to session on building Analytic Apps in Alteryx, starting with some beginner-level apps, then incorporating more intermediate features, including how to chain apps in sequence together.  Configuration of the Interface tools, especially the Action tool, was explained in detail, along with the Interface Designer view.  Please check out the recording to learn more about this beneficial aspect of Alteryx, available out of the box (and at no additional cost) with Designer Desktop!

Alteryx ACE David Pansegrouw, Dublin, Ireland user group leader and Head of Operations at The Information Lab Ireland, presented an exploration of the puzzle he created in Alteryx.  Utilizing advanced techniques with the spatial toolset, David showed us the process he used to build a multi-faceted puzzle all within the Alteryx Desktop platform.  This was featured during the Obscura session at the Inspire conference in May for a short overview; at our recent meeting, David was able to explain each step in depth and answer questions.  Thanks, David, for being our guest speaker, and you are welcome back any time!
