Hi, fellow DFW Alteryx User Group members! Just a reminder to join us for our upcoming in-person meeting this Friday, November 15th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. We are privileged to host our meeting onsite at the University of Texas at Dallas campus in Richardson, and will feature some excellent guest speakers!
Our first guest speaker is Veda Swaroop Dasagrandhi, Master's student at UT Dallas. His presentation is called, "Empowering Students with Alteryx: Transforming Projects and Preparing for Data-Driven Careers". Veda has provided this excellent overview of the session:
Next, we welcome one of the newest Alteryx ACEs, Michael Keiffer, back to the DFW stage, where he will continue his presentation from the October meeting, with some cool new topics! Michael will feature how to build Batch Macros, and will create workflows step-by-step to show each tool configuration. He will also feature an Analytic App that inputs hundreds of files, and combines them into one file. Join us to see the ACE techniques in action!
For those who are not able to attend in person, the meeting will also be hybrid and hosted on Zoom. Hi, everyone! Thank you to all who were able to join us for our in-person/hybrid meeting at UT Dallas in November! It was an excellent meeting, and we had two great presenters: Veda Swaroop Dasagrandhi, Master's student at UT Dallas, and Alteryx ACE Michael Keiffer, Instructor and CPA.
We started the meeting with an engaging presentation by Veda Swaroop, called "Empowering Students with Alteryx: Transforming Projects and Preparing for Data-Driven Careers". He showcased how the Alteryx SparkED program has benefitted many students at UTD, allowing them to receive Alteryx licenses and learn the platform at a very fast pace. Instructors at the university are able to utilize prepared curricula and add them to their data analytics courses, enabling students to ramp up quickly and prepare for their careers. Many students have even become Core Certified through their participation in the program!
Veda featured a workflow utilizing A/B testing for a coffee shop, and gave detailed explanations of the results and processes. He also provided some excellent ideas, such as hosting Alteryx workshops on campus for students, which can be highly beneficial. In addition, Veda designed a useful survey for students, allowing him to gather opinions about the topics students are interested in learning within the Alteryx platform. Excellent work, Veda, and we hope to have you return as a guest speaker in the future!
Next, Michael continued his presentation from our October virtual meeting, and built batch macros on the fly for our audience. He also showcased an Analytic App that imports hundreds of files, describing an interesting use case where the end user required some interactivity with the process (making it a much more advanced solution). Please see the following recording for this not-to-be-missed session and watch the batch macro and Analytic App take shape! Thank you, Michael, for another cool and interesting presentation!
