I definitely took the more heavy-handed approach.  I should have fiddled with the spatial tools longer before I resorted to parsing and manipulating.  The result is there though.

Really nice, clean spatial example to get people exploring some of the spatial functions. REALLY easy if you are familiar with them but could be quite challenging if you aren't...
