solved with combination of data cleaning, dynamic rename, select, sample, append (date), and multi-row to fill down share class.

My solution has more selects to reduce the number of fields making it easier for me to see what I'm working with... not sure if this is more efficient as well.  The solution retains all fields and uses the embedded Select in the Append Fields tool
