How to do it as a Beginner?

Things to learn:

  • Nested Function: Alteryx follows sequential processing under a formula tool, but to avoid mistakes in forgetting calculations it is better to use a function within another and complete the operation within single formula
  • Grouping similar functions: Similar algebraic operations should be grouped within same tool/tool container
  • Data Type: While creating a new field in formula tool, always ensure the correct data type; in this case it would be 'Date'

Innovation:

Calculation of Days to Friday is agnostic of what day the start is

MOD function has addition metric of 7 - Day of Week (5) in this case
