I didn't like this challenge. The wording and headings was misleading and I spent 80% of the challenge trying to figure out what the question was asking. Everyone else seems to have immediately understood it so maybe it is correlated with how I have coincidently never booked a hotel in my life.
e.g. this wording would have been clearer:
For each month, calculate the average length someone stays at the hotel for as well as the total number of hotel reservations for that month.
Include only the records where the reservations were not cancelled and were at least one day in length of stay.
[reservation_status_date] is combined with the [reservation_status], so a "Check-Out" means that date is when they checked out.
The term "day" is in reference to "night" so it is how many nights did they spend at the hotel. If someone arrived and left on the same day, this is understood as 0 days, not 1 day.
