I added "CPI average" as a region.  CPI keeps pace with inflation until around 2007, but inflation and wages parted ways in 1990s, after "trickledown" was in effect.

I added a second chart that was zeroed to inflation.  Yikes!

I added a third chart that is zeroed to CPI (without inflation, because that takes over). That South region just does not look good in any chart!
