Okay...
My original question was motived by the need to simplify and shorten titles to facilitate charting etc.
Let me modify the scenario a bit to reflect real world data...
Using the example provided by @MarqueeCrew as a start point... I would not want You reduced to Y. How can us adjust for the type of scenarios? For example, what if the start point is "Universal UAS Ground Control". I would want the output to be "Unvrsl UAS Grnd Cntrl" and NOT "Unvrsl US Grnd Cntrl". How might you incorporate a list of "don't modify words" into your workflow?

Here's my solution:
