After launching the Women of Analytics initiative last March, featuring remarkable panelists via Alteryx Hangout, and at a successful event during Inspire 2017 in Las Vegas, we're delighted to announce we will be hosting the very first EMEA Women of Analytics panel at Inspire Europe 2017! 

 

You are invited to join Alteryx Chief Customer Officer and Co-Founder, Olivia Duane Adams for a luncheon on Tuesday 12 September where she will host an interactive panel discussion with brilliant panelists who will share their perspectives, challenges and tips to promote women's education and career growth in analytics.

Samantha is a keen problem solver and technology enthusiast with over a decade of experience of handling data. She sits alongside a dedicated team of data experts to help improve strategic business decisions through the power of sound data. Her background is within Geographical Information Systems she has a First Class undergraduate degree from University of East London, a Master’s degree from Cambridge University and is a Chartered Geographer with the Royal Geographical Society as well as a member of the BCS. Outside of her working environment, Samantha is a full time mum to two wonderful girls, and loves to get involved within her local community.

Tableau & Alteryx BI Specialist – The Information Lab

 

Emily Chen is a Consultant at The Information Lab. She joined as part of Cohort 1 in The Information Lab's Data School and consulted for Eli Lilly, KPMG Capital and Ocado. Before Alteryx/Tableau came into her life, Emily worked in Ecommerce for Best Buy Canada as a Category Analyst. She also helps run London's Data Plus Women group where they feature female speakers to highlight their contributions in Data. Her favorite Alteryx Tool? The Download tool!

As VP of Customer Support, Amy is focused on fulfillment and driving engagement, satisfaction, and retention. She joined Alteryx as the company's first inside sales representative, then soon took on the role of product manager, and later VP of Product Management. Her motivation and willingness to take on new challenges has made her a key contributor to the success and growth of Alteryx.

This really was a wonderful event, and an honour to be a part of it.

 

I thought that the discussion around the broader axes of diversity was very interesting, and we spent some time talking about how some people can be fully included and productive with very minor accommodations (e.g. hearing loss; colour blindness; family-care responsibilities; religious observations; etc).   The starting point is talking to people; and understanding their needs.
