How Can I Able To Recover My Lost Data?

Hello friends, I'm having a serious problem; I lost all of my storage data and am unable to recover it. Can anyone tell me how I can recover my deleted data? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of data?  What process produced the data?  On your local machine or a server?

It was my USB drive data and it all data has been lost by mistake.

After a long search on Google, I came across this article. But I am quite confused if I follow the steps which mentioned in the article, will it work perfectly? What do you say?

I once accidentally "permanently" deleted all the pics off one of my SD drives.  I found free software online that was able to recover it.  Don't recall which one, but it was free, and it worked.  You'll have to search some of them out.
