Hi, fellow Alteryxians!  Save the date for the next Dallas / Fort Worth Alteryx User Group meeting, which will be Friday, August 26th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.!  This virtual meeting will be held on Zoom, and allow many of our members to join from around the metroplex.

We have an exciting lineup of speakers for this meeting, featuring two Alteryx ACEs:

  • Chris Lewis, Senior Director of Business Intelligence at JLL and Austin User Group Leader, will present a comparison of Tableau Prep and Alteryx.  If you have ever had questions on this topic, a Q&A session will follow!
  • Mark Frisch, owner of MarqueeCrew and creator of the CReW Macros, returns to the user group stage to feature a deep exploration of his newest (and very cool) Macro, SHA256 Encryption.  Join us for the chance to ask Mark everything you wanted to know about this and his other famous CReW Macros!

More information and a Zoom link will be posted soon; with the new Community Events experience, you can sign-up to attend a meeting with a click of a button!  Please visit the “Events” tab at the top of this page (next to “Home” and “Discussion”) then click on the link in the calendar on the 26th.  Then simply click "Yes" on the top right corner to RSVP to this event.  There is also an easy way to add the event to your own calendar!

Hi, user group members!  Here is a recap of the August user group meeting, where we had some special guest speakers:

Chris Lewis, Alteryx ACE, Austin User Group leader, and Senior Director of Business Intelligence at JLL, presented a comparison of Tableau Prep and Alteryx.  We had some excellent questions during the session, and an engaging conversation on the topic of when to use which platform - as well as how both Alteryx and Tableau work seamlessly together.

Mark Frisch, Alteryx ACE and owner of Marquee Crew (and co-creator of the famous CReW Macros) featured his newest macro SHA256 Encryption.  (Well, the newest macro at the time; Mark is always inventing new Alteryx CReW macros!)  We were privileged to have Mark at our December meeting last week, and the recording for the August user group meeting gives additional insight into the process he uses in designing and creating advanced macros.

A link to the meeting recording can be accessed here:

Thanks again for joining our virtual meetings where you can learn so much more about Alteryx!
