Hi, user group members!  As mentioned in the January post, we are excited to host our February DFW Alteryx User Group meeting in-person at UT Dallas!  This will be part of a special Alteryx SparkED program, as well as the UTD Career Fair Day.  All user group members are welcome to attend, and please bring your business cards, since there will be opportunities for networking not only with other members, but also with UTD students who have become familiar with Alteryx through the innovative SparkED path.

The meeting will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Central time, and the room number and building location on the UTD campus will be posted soon.

One of our guest speakers will be The Commit Partnership, who will showcase an Alteryx workflow developed to prep and blend extensive data into the formats required for their advanced analytics in Education.  They will also discuss how they grew from a few Alteryx Designer licenses to the multi-user environment they have today.  Please visit The Commit Partnership for more information, and we look forward to learning more about their analytics in Alteryx!

Additional speakers will be announced soon, and please stay posted for further details.

Please RSVP through the calendar Event page on our DFW Alteryx User Group page; you can also download a calendar invitation as well:  DFW February Alteryx User Group Meeting! - Alteryx Community

Thanks again for being a part of our amazing user group, which extends and facilitates analytic knowledge throughout our metroplex and beyond!  Hope to see you there in person!

Thanks, @jaygarcia !  DFW User Group members, as Jay mentioned, if your company would like to host a table at the UT Dallas Career Fair on the 24th, please contact Jay and the SparkED team at the email addresses mentioned in his post.  This would be an excellent opportunity to showcase your company, hand out business cards, and talk with 500+ Alteryx certified students who are enthusiastic about Alteryx and data analytics!

There is no cost to host a table, and the Career Fair begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24th.  Our user group meeting is from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., so there will be ample time for networking.

Please reach out to either Jay or me if you have any questions; thanks, and hope to see you at the Career Fair and the meeting!

Also, our DFW Alteryx User Group will also have a table at the Career Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and we are looking for volunteers to assist with handing out information, talking with students, and participating in the mock interview process as part of the event.

Please reply to this post, or feel free to reach out to me directly through @Deanna here on the Community if you may be interested in volunteering.  You can also volunteer just for an hour, if that works best for your schedule.  Thanks to each of you for your support of the user group and the Alteryx SparkED program, and hope to see you in person on the 24th at this exciting event!

Hi, fellow Alteryxians!  Thank you to all who could join us for the February in-person meeting, which was held at the UT Dallas Davidson Auditorium in the Naveen Jindal School of Management - it was an awesome event, with outstanding presenters!

  • David Rardon, Director of Analytics, and Skylar Garza, Data Analyst at The Commit Partnership, presented advanced workflows designed to prep and blend large education-based datasets.  They also showed some of the many initiatives The Commit Partnership is currently working on, with fascinating results by utilizing Alteryx to process demographic data as well as creating attractive maps via the Reporting tools.
    • David is also the longtime co-leader of the DFW User Group, and we appreciate his support throughout the years!  Thanks to you and Skylar for volunteering to present, and for all the impactful work you do at The Commit Partnership.
    • For more information on The Commit Partnership (which was our Alteryx For Good recipient in 2017-2018), please visit The Commit Partnership
  • Michael Bono, Senior Analyst, Business Insights and Strategy at Toyota, joined us virtually through Teams and delivered an engaging presentation on "Time Series Forecasting with Model Factory Tools".  His detailed explanation of how to utilize the Time Series toolset, along with a deeper dive into the Model Factory tools, gave us excellent insight into how he approaches these types of solutions - and inspired us to try out the tools ourselves!  Michael's slides are attached to this post, and you can view and download the workflow through this link to the Alteryx Gallery:  Basic Alteryx Time Series and Time Series Factory ... - Alteryx Community
    • Thank you to Michael again for taking the time to join our user group meeting and sharing your expertise while traveling; we appreciate it greatly!
  • Quentin Salomino, Sales Engineer at Alteryx, provided an awesome presentation of the new Auto Insights cloud product.  His expert demo presentation wowed the audience with the ease of use of Auto Insights, as well as the amazing ways the product "answers questions" in a natural language format.  Many attendees commented that Auto Insights would have been useful during datathons and presentation deck preparations!  :)
    • Thanks to Quentin for showcasing such a cool product; Quentin is also a UT Dallas graduate, so it was an added bonus to have him at the event!
    • For more information on the Auto Insights cloud product, please visit Auto Insights Tour - Alteryx

Thanks again to each of our talented presenters, making the meeting entertaining and inspiring - and to our members for joining us on the campus and networking with the UT Dallas students!

Special thanks to Professor Gaurav Shekhar, Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs at the Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas, as well as the Alteryx SparkED team, including Jay Garcia and Bhumika Patel, for inviting us to host our February DFW Alteryx User Group Meeting on the UT Dallas campus.  It was a privilege to be part of the UTD / Alteryx SparkED Career Fair Day, hosting a table for the user group at the event, then an information-packed meeting in the auditorium.  We truly appreciate the collaboration with each of you and UT Dallas, and we look forward to future events together!
