Need To Know
This month, the Event User Group and Community Calendars received a few updates to help streamline the user experience. Along with those upgrades, users now receive a confirmation email containing the event details when registering for events. Look out for additional improvements in the coming months!
We’ve also fixed a few minor bugs on the recently enhanced Weekly Challenge filter, most notably:
-
The ability to sort through challenges using the most recent, top viewed, and top liked filters
-
The ability to customize the total replies shown on a challenge using the Community Settings
Top Discussions
We’re introducing a new section to the Community Highlights blogs—top discussions posted in the last month (in this case, the last two months).
- Calculating a 30-day rolling average: @OllieClarke jumped in with a solution and thorough explanation of the approach to solving this problem. And kudos to @AKPWZ for asking good follow-up questions and trying an approach for the join.
- 3 Excel outputs in one single Excel file: This discussion covered how to write to multiple tabs in the same Excel file. Great work illustrating the correct Block Until Done tool placement in your solution @cjaneczko!
- How would you help on this community and why: In this post, we heard from @OTrieger, @cpet13, @alexnajm, @apathetichell, @shancmiralles, @Bren_Spill, @Qiu, and @gawa on their approaches to answering discussion posts. We loved the discussion on supporting community members while also focusing on helping them learn and grow.
- SQL Server ODBC Connection Issue on Alteryx Server: @fmvizcaino highlighted the benefits of using a DSN-less connection for this use case. Nice job!
- Execute Workflow via API: @apathetichell provided guidance on executing an Alteryx workflow via the API with a service account. With an assist from Alteryx support on the final question, this post was solved!
We highlighted the above posts not only to give a shout-out to the solvers but also because their popularity indicates the discussion is engaging and they are solving other community members’ questions!

On the podcast this month, we heard from six Community members and our hosts @NicoleJ and @JoshuaB on what they love about Alteryx! Tune in here for some great stories and insights (and maybe some warm-fuzzy feelings).
