Scott Burrill, Managing Director and Partner at Rosenblatt Securities, discusses their use of Alteryx and Big Data analytics in this just released video.
Scott uses Alteryx because it allows him to quickly build out models on the fly and get to the insights all while on the phone with customers. He also uses it for building more complex models, in many cases replacing MathLAB analytics with Alteryx, and feeding the results to Tableau for great visual analytics.
In some cases, Scott and the team at Rosenblatt Securities use the drag and drop and self-documenting capabilities of Alteryx to quickly build analytical models, and then share those with development as prototypes. The drag and drop model takes them beyond the command line and coding methodology of yesterday. The truth is, the analytics industry has evolved, and the need to drop down into code is becoming less and less necessary.
