Joe Francica, editor of DirectionsMag.com, obviously liked what he saw at our recent Inspire 2011 conference. In his 3/15/11 article called BI or LI: Alteryx Can Play in Either, but There's No Magic Quadrant Answer, he makes several astute observations.
"Many in attendance at the Inspire 2011: Alteryx Community conference in Broomfield, Colorado, were users with only one or two years of experience who found themselves able to do very complex analyses... [That's] a good sign, as the company positions itself not so much for analysts but for clients who need to solve a problem and do it quickly..."
Joe also cites findings from the Forrester Report on BI Platform Requirements, the result of surveying more than 150 users of Alteryx geographic business intelligence software. Ease-of-use and the rapid modeling of workflows were consistently at the top of the respondents' priorities driving their selection of a best-of-breed BI platform.
We think Gartner and DirectionsMag are just now discovering what our users have known for quite a while – it's not the IT leaders who urgently need leading-edge business intelligence solutions—it's the business and line-of-business leaders who require better everyday decision-support tools to improve their management of bottom-line business processes.
