Unformatted File Type Import

I am looking for some help on how to import data into the designer with an unformatted file type. The files are saved with different .numeric information and I have to manually tell it which program I would like it to use each time I open the file. The file type only runs on my computer with Notepad++. I have tried multiple input tools and the document is not in the options to select even with all file types selected.

Hi @sarasegreto ,

Can you input these files as a delimited text file? Try dragging the file from file explorer onto the Alteryx canvas and selecting "read as a delimited text file". You can then try out a few delimiters. Try looking into the text file in notepad to find a suitable delimiter.

I agree with @FinnCharlton .  Bring it in as an non-delimited text file just to see what it looks like after input then test out the delimiters from there.  I use this functionality to review and modify the XML of another existing .yxmd file.
