Outlook 365 Input Tool: Failure to Fetch Emails

Hi all,

I am recieved a "Failed to fetch emails data. Check your settings and try again." error only when trying to pull from the INBOX folder on the connected email. I am authenticated via the OAuth2 and confirmed proper permissions with the API.

I can pull from all other folders (i.e. Archive, Deleted, Junk, etc) but cannot pull emails from the inbox.

This workflow previously worked fine, but now is not coorporate ~1 month later.

Any and all advice appreciated.

Hi @emilyforeman,

Have you tried the updated connector tool? - https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Community-Gallery/Outlook-365-Tool/ta-p/898140

Are you connected to VPN?

I would assume this is a security/permission issue with the Outlook Inbox.

Hope this helps.

Yes, VPN connected and on the latest version :/

Well..it appears that I can query from the Inbox folder only if I provide a search parameter. It will not allow me to pull the whole folder (which is only 5 emails) This is quite a blocker to require a search param. I would like to be able to pull the full folder

I guess today is one of those days were you solve your own problem!

@PanPP

It appears the issue is with an email attachement that was in the folder. The tool is configured to download attachments. One of the email files has an 'Outlook Item' as an attachment file. This appears to clog the tool. When any email with the attachement is in the inbox it fails to pull in any files.

This seems a bit buggy as I would need to essentially monitor the inbox manually to avoid being sent anything with an 'Outlook Item' attachment so the workflow doesn't fail.

@emilyforeman  Thank you so much on your post telling us about the outlook message within the email.  This was driving me crazy.  I took out the email that had the 'Outlook Item' and that fixed it for me!

Can you please explain this in detail. I'm also facing the same issue right now. Would be great to help me out here.
