Optimisation Tool I Output Bug: "An error occurred while rendering"

Issue

 

Using the Browse tool or otherwise, when trying to view the I output of the Optimisation Tool you may see an error in the profile pane similar to this:

 

  • An error occurred while rendering:
    File path in htmldependency must be rooted in Alteryx install folder:
    "C:\Users\<user>\Documents\R\win-library\4.1\htmlwidgets\www\htmlwidgets.js"

  • An error occurred while rendering:
    File path in htmldependency must be rooted in Alteryx install folder:
    "C:\Program Files\Alteryx\R-4.1.3\library\htmlwidgets\www\htmlwidgets.js"

Environment Details

 

Observed in:

  • Alteryx Designer 
    • 2022.3
    • 2023.1
    • May exist in other versions.

 

Cause

 

Unknown as of yet.

This is a known defect (GCSE-1488) - if you are experiencing this issue, please report it to Alteryx Support to be kept up to date with any information related to the defect's resolution.

 

 

Workaround

 

Downgrade to an earlier version of Designer.

You can install an older version of Designer alongside your current version using the following guide:

@OllieClarke  Do you know if they are going to issue a patch or a new release to fix this?  I noticed the same error in 2023.2 as well.  Do you think I should report this to Tech Support as well?  Thanks so much!

@mkeiffer I don't have any info on the status of this defect unfortunately. I would imagine that the more support tickets raising the issue, the quicker a fix would come though, so definitely raise one too if you're suffering this error.

I'm working in 2024.1 and the problem persists unfortunately.

Using the workaround suggested above, I installed version 22.1 and happily could view the interactive report.
