New Field Data Type Changes When Field Name Changes

Hello all. I added a new field using a Formula tool and changed it to a Fixed Decimal with size 19.2. However, each time I change the column name, the data type automatically gets changed to a V_WString. Is this what is expected? I think it would be convenient if a field was already created previously, even if I change the column name, the data type would stay the same.

How are you changing the column name?  Select tool?  Or other method?

Hi @Kenda - there was a known issue with this in version 11.0 that was fixed in 11.3. Are you experiencing this issue on 11.3 or 11.5?

@Storm I changed it directly in the Formula tool where I created the column.

@SophiaF I have version 11.0 still, but I asked a colleague, and it seems as though it is working for them in 11.3. Thank you!
