Month to Month Total Price

Suppose you have a chart like below. List the total monthly sales amount of all products using the sales in 2007, month by month, in different columns. How can I do that? For example :

There are a few ways to do this. Here's one, that I've broken out into seperate tools to make it easier to annotate and explain what's happening:

3 steps:

a: create the column name that you want using a formula tool (based on the date)

b: summarize tool to add up for that month - now you should have a vertical list of months with totals by product; by month

c: Use a cross-tab tool to turn rows of months into columns
