Embedded select

Can someone tell me what this tool does? What exactly is it used for and how beneficial is it? 

And which tools have embedded selects in them? Any workflows would be great. Thanks!

Hi @Inactive User 

embedded select is select tool options in another tool.

This is in Join tool. Other tools also have it.

Example tools:

1 Join tool

2 Append tool

and few more.

So embedded select is where Input can vary correct? I see in Join Multiple tool they have Input_#1 and Input_#2 but no way of editing this. Does this still qualify as embedded select?

Hi @Inactive User 

You can rename in Join multiple tool.

So basically if any tool has a select tool functionality of renaming columns, reordering columns, deselecting columns then its called a embedded select tool.
