Afternoon, When doing CTRL + F to search it displays the items + the ID .. so EX) Container .. 294 .. is it possible to change the naming so it says what the name of the container is rather than saying container?
Solved! Go to Solution.
@imranjumathat's an interesting question.
Not sure you can because the CTRL + F is explicitly "Find Tool."
However, I think that if you named your tool...you should be able to type the name in the Find Text field and call it up/ filter that way.
Hoepfully, an ACE will see your question as well and help us out...
When you hit CTRL+F the box shows the custom tool names.
By default, it's the regular names, but when you change it, it reflects there.
Cheers,
@Thableaus, thanks.
I think the op is talking about containers vs tools. I may have misinterpreted though.
I think @imranjuma is asking about the value displayed for a Container in the find window. For containers, the annotation tab doesn't include a "name" where you can change the value displayed by Find. In the example below, Find displays "66 - Tool Container". Would be nice if it displayed the Caption from the container.
If you create an Idea, I'll be happy to add a star to it.
@Thableaus Thank you, this was exactly what I was looking for
It would be nice if the Find functionality was enhanced to show tool names and annotations.
This will give you a list of containers:
Multiple Tool Containers in a large workflow? No problem! Right click on your
canvas, select zoom, and choose the Container you wish to view. Alteryx will zoom
to that container so you don’t have to search for it!
The text above is from the 2016 Tips and Tricks PDF document.
Highly recommended: all of the Tips and Tricks PDF documents, going back to 2013.
I created a new Idea, if anyone would like to add a star:
Display this additional data in the window of the Find Tool:
- Annotation text for tools
- Caption for containers (like the right-click Zoom functionality has)
