Alteryx_Inspire-1011-small.pngWeekly Challenge

Do you have what it takes to be a Grand Prix Champion? Try your hand at all three laps of the workflows used for the Grand Prix at Inspire in Anaheim!

Tackling this workflow won't compare to the experience our finalists had, but it will give you a glimpse into what it takes to compete in the Grand Prix. To make it more life-like, follow these suggestions!

1) Open up the workflow and give yourself 2 minutes to read the prompt - don't touch the mouse!
2) Time yourself - the drivers had a maximum of 12 minutes to finish.*
3) To take it to the next level, invite your friends, co-workers and neighbors over, provide them food and drinks, and put on some headphones as you solve the workflow right in front of them!

Are there other Alteryx skills you’d like to put into practice? No problem. We’ve got you covered. You can browse all of the available challenges by difficulty and subject, right here.

Python Spotlight

Tons of Python-related activity this past month including:

Python Contest Winner

Last, but certainly not least, congratulations to @nick612hayden for winning the Python tool contest! Nick built the Glassdoor Company Review Scraper to take home the custom mechanical keyboard grand prize.

The best part of this contest was collaborating on a pythonSDK project with others!nick-python.png

   A) bc there's no way I would have completed this in the coming weeks without the help...but also,
   B) finding dev community members that were so quick and willing to dig in and solve problems together!

  - Nick Hayden

Other great entries included tools for:

  • Sentiment analysis
  • Regex parsing
  • Sorting fields

And many more. Head over to the Python Challenge on Dev Space to check out and download these free tools!

Community Tips

*Tips to help you make the most of your time on the Community.

Marking replies as accepted solutions, is a great way to help your fellow community members find the answers they're looking for.

Why is this important?

Accepted solutions helps our Community identify content that solves users’ problems and makes answers more prominent and easy to access.

What happens when users mark a reply as an accepted solution?

When a user marks a reply as an accepted solution:

  • A check mark icon appears next to the original post
  • The solution gets circled in bright green so that users scanning a list can easily locate it
  • A Go to Solution link is displayed in the original post to go directly to the solution
  • The post is elevated in search results

Accepting solutions thread-small.png

With Alteryx, more often than not, there is more than one way to get to a solution...

Did you know?

Users who post the first message in a thread can mark one (or more!) of the replies as an accepted solution.
