Referencing the previous idea: Inputs/Output should have the option to read/write a compressed file (ZIP or GZIP)
This idea has been implemented for inputting .zip files. However, we still need to use the run command workaround for outputs. It's very common for many users to want to output their .csv, .xlsx, .pdf to a .zip. The functionality would also need to extend to Gallery.
See the following links for people that are looking for this type of functionality:

Feel free to merge this idea with the previous one for continuity.
This would be incredibly beneficial to our workflows. For example, we create some very large (10GB+) CSV files that we'd like to compress as part of our workflow.
It would be great in the gallery to be able to easily output to a zip.
It would be very useful to have the zip functionality for the output files in both Alteryx Designer as well as in Gallery. This also helps in automation point of view where we want the Alteryx job to produce some output and zip it before emailing or placing it on the NAS location from where it could be read from other tools/bots etc.
Thank you for your idea!
Our product team is currently in the process of reviewing your idea. We'll update the status again once the review is completed and we can better speak on if or when we would be able to include this output enhancement into the main product.
I would definitely use this.
I have a report that generates almost 20 output files.
It will be great to be able to download almost 20 files as a zip instead of selecting every single file and download it.
Would be very useful to combine output files.
Yes please make this a standard functionality in Alteryx desktop & Gallery.
For workflows that output a couple dozen files or more, downloading each one individually is a poor use of the user's time and makes a bad impression on them.
Please implement this as soon as possible. Augmenting multiple workflows to zip up files is rather silly compared to implementing this once at the gallery level.
Any update on this idea? This has been open for more than a year.
Yes, this is a definite need for server.
I work for a Fortune 500 who would love to see this!
At a fortune 500: there's a huge need to be able to "Download all" from the Gallery. There are currently dozens of staff downloading dozens of output files at the end of each run, which Is a huge waste.
The lack of this really limits the benfits of the batch reporting tools. Please add this.
Any updates on this ?
hi everyone, I am working now to get you an update, cheers.
Any update on this in 2022? It looks like outputting to Gzip was first discussed in 2015!
Hi everyone
I just submitted this macro to the gallery, it is using the zipfile python library to do this. I am using it with Alteryx Server scheduled.
Zip any given files - Alteryx Community
Hope it is useful for you!
Please provide an update. My company could really use this. Thanks!
Please provide an update. It will be very helpful. 😊
I am supporting a client who has one analytic application that batches out multiple CSVs (up to 25) to the Gallery. The server is on a separate network with no access to data servers where they can output to. The only access is through the Gallery. The users have to download the CSV files one by one.
It seems very intuitive to have a Download All option where all of the outputs of a workflow are downloaded from the Results page of a workflow as a zipfile. It also ensures that if a user didn't notice all of the files output, they would all be included anyway.
Please send us an update on this product ideas as it has 102 likes and many comments.
Thanks!
We need this!
I have workflow that produces output based on the city. Imagine downloading 120 city files individually!
Please provide an update. This is still an issue with my F500 client and now another client.
Been near 6 years, any update on this? Could really use this option.. I have nearly 150+ pdf files I need to output every week by various employees... it is not ideal to download one by one for days..
