Challenge #46: Formatting a Date from an Integer

DanTh

Spoiler
Attempted the single-formula approach after seeing @Joe_Mako boss it.

DateTimeParse(
Switch(Left([date],1),"","0","19","1","20")+
Right([date], 6),
"%Y%m%d")

I had to originally skip this problem and come back to it. I will say taking a break and learning through other problems I was able to use tokenize through the parsing tool and a crosstab to manipulate the original date and find the solution!

Hi @GeneR ,

Nice and quick one. If only all data actually had a flag to say it's 19 or 20 that would be so much easier.

Very data-rule specific solution - only works because of the 0 = 19, 1 = 20 mapping.

Formula tool of     DateTimeParse(ToString(ToNumber([date])+19000000),'%y%m%d')
