Dogs are for life - not just for Christmas. Some sad statistics in here. Nevertheless, a fun challenge.

FUN FACTS!
1-The vast majority (12,921) of the dogs in the shelter are mixed breed. Why? Were they captured stray dogs, their 'mixed' genes make them hard to put up with and their owners give up on them?
2-Pit bulls are 2nd breed population (2,164) in the shelter and since we dont' see many in the streets, it's easy to infer why they're there.
They also got only a 15% adoption ratio, which is about the same for German Shepherds.
3- AM PIT BULL TER with a considerable population of 339, only have a 4.4% adoption ratio which is 4th worst.
4-If you are a Yorkshire Terr, get comfortable because at a 1.3% adoption ratio, you're not going anywhere soon.
