I solved this one with two tools, and neither was a multi-row formula tool.

Actually, I am having trouble figuring out how the multi-row formula tool could be used here.

This seems like a very simple exercise in the formula tool.

The challenge could have been made slightly more interesting if it was to create an analytic app that input the starting amount and/or the spending amount (in one of many different ways) and then do the calculations.
