I thought it was easier!

Solved! I had a little trouble getting the star to fill in and had to look at the solution... still learning Spatial Tools :)

I originally used a Switch() function to produce the sequence values, but then repeated the process with a look-up table and the Find and Replace tool as this just felt like a more maintainable and better solution to that particular problem.
