Here is my solution.

I purposefully put quite a few steps in, to separate all the steps clearly, but it can be regrouped in less steps.

However, I found having several simple steps make life easier to debug projects, especially more complex ones.

Challenge #2 complete. Main takeaway from this challenge was using Trim instead of Replace like I usually do. I also was able to condense my original solution (total of 13 tools) to just the few thanks to the solution posted. Specifically the datetimeparse formula paired with trim formula. Yay learning.
