In my quest to complete all Weekly Challenges - this isn't in the cards for me. I must have put in my admin password 5000 times (I might be exaggerating) and no dice. After consulting with Chatty G (aka ChatGPT) for over an hour, I quit.

Here's what I tried without the actual helpful paths/code because community posting rules - can't be TOO helpful. (I'm not bitter, you're bitter):

  1. Downloaded and unzipped the Outlier plugin folder.

  2. Manually created the necessary plugin directories for both user-level and admin-level Alteryx installs.

  3. Copied the Outlier files into those directories (yes, the correct structure).

  4. Restarted Designer (even did the full reboot ritual).

  5. Ran Designer in both standard and admin modes.

  6. Edited the XML configuration, updating the settings for macro-based tools and even renaming the tool/category to force a refresh.

  7. Cleared Alteryx caches and rebuilt the tool palette layout.

  8. Confirmed the macro itself works when dropped directly into a workflow.

  9. Contemplated my life choices. Decided I can't win them all and surrendered to this challenge.

Did I learn nothing? Not exactly - I found my personal breaking point. So taking a W on that.....

Took a little bit for me to figure out.  Helps to read the file correctly. :)
