Thanks for the challenge. I just started with Alteryx this week and solved using Core certificate tools. Looking at other responses, I see that there is a generate rows toll which I'll definitely explore.
I appreciate it's a bit sub-optimal, so please bear with me 😉
My solution is attached (not very scalable, since it requires a manual formula based on values).

Created range via multiple IF clauses> join both files > Count Customers and group by other columns
