Probably the Formula tool for me. The functions are super robust and we can even handle a bunch of processing that otherwise have dedicated tools i.e. RegEx, DateTime & the Spatial palette!

Multi-Field Formula tool! It is a fantastic tool to manipulate multiple columns at the same time and caters to data type and size changes as well.

The functions go above and beyond with the crazy expression edits along with more dynamic fields being called.

Overall top tool. Massive kudos to the engineers who thought of this.

My favorite is the REGEX tool. I think it's fun to try and figure out what patterns to create to parse out the data. I try not to use any of the online regex expression builders and figure it out on my own. I've been able to parse out some pretty complicated patterns. It's like learning a different language. Well, I think it's that way even though I only speak 1 language 😂!

Mad respect Dan. I use AI for REGEX and its hypothesis based so I keep testing and making it cover as many bases as possible until it hits my mark.

REGEX without help for me is a no go… tried my best to practice it but I can get simple ones right, not the complex ones.

My favorite tool is the Join tool! I use it all the time and it makes merging datasets so easy. And I like the three output anchors so I can check if I had unjoined records and see if that was expected or not.

On my company's feature adoption dashboard, my #1 tool is the Comment Tool! I use it far more than my colleagues and I think it's because I like to keep my workflows organized and ready for anyone coming behind me to understand what's happening, and more importantly - why! There's not always enough room in the tool tags for what I want to convey, plus I love the ability to stylize comments for better clarity and emphasis. I also use them when I'm building workflows to track what I still need to build (and at what point in the workflow), thoughts/considerations to keep in mind, and questions that come up. When I build a successful workflow and schedule it to run on Server, I may not see it again for 3-6 months, and I want to be able to jump right back in when the time comes without getting lost or relearning why I did certain things.

My favorite tool is the RecordID. It seems to be a very simple tool, however it is a great enabler to many other things that would not be possible without it, such as enabling you to create a dynamic way to modify your WF. It is my number 1 tool, will be integrated almost in any WF. That is the tool that I know that will keep the order of the data as per what I needed, and not necessary just from a-z.
While all the rest of the tools have a versatile functions, this is the number one tool that enable them all!

I have very recently become a huge fan of the Transpose Tool. The power to make truly dynamic workflows opens new doors and has enabled me to do far more. It's a tool that performs a very simple function but provides tremendous versatility in the right hands.

Starting from the basic, I feel the Summarize tool is of a great creation which enables us to work on grouping the huge data in quick seconds in Alteryx.
