Hi all,
I am at student at the University of Denver wanting to use Alteryx for one of my classes. We have a license key for the class and I was able to register for an account, but I am having trouble downloading Alteryx Designer from the products download page. Every time I try to open the installer file I get an error message (see attached) and I am not sure how to fix it. I tried to open a support ticket, however every time I go to alteryx.com/support I am redirected to a blank page on https://my.alteryx.com/account and there’s no place to open a support ticket on this website. I did reach out to the customer service line (888-836-4247) leaving two messages to the operator line. I have also tried to get help from my IT department here at school but they do not want to do anything further without me reaching out to customer support first, in hopes that someone from Alteryx will have a solution.
So if someone is seeing this message please reach out and let me know how I should proceed, you can reply to me here or email me at mike.allen@du.edu , thank you!
Have you tried performing a complete uninstallation of Alteryx, as outlined in this guide: https://knowledge.alteryx.com/index/s/article/Complete-Uninstall-of-Alteryx-Designer-1583461464200?
If not, I recommend following the steps in that guide, restarting your machine, and then attempting the installation again.
If the issue persists, please open Regedit as an administrator and navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products. Expand the Products folder, locate the subfolder associated with Alteryx (you can check each folder for the "Product Name" value), and delete the corresponding key.
After that, restart the machine and try reinstalling once more.
I followed the instructions of the link you gave me and checked the registry, and the files that you would need to delete are not even there. The installation does not even get far enough to get to that point.
The three installers that I need to run are standalone .exe files. When you run one of the .exe files, it requests the usage of a .msi file (see screenshot), with a similar name, but a different extension. This would suggest that there is a conflict within the code of the .exe file regarding the file type of the actual installer.
I should also note that it is imperative that I get the non-admin version of these files.
