Hi everyone,

Seasons Greeting to one and all.

As we are basking in the holiday season, I thought of giving a quick recap for our Q4 Alteryx user group meeting at Christ (Deemed to be) University.

We are very happy to state that we got about 70 people in attendance for the meeting. Thanks to each one of you for turning up and making the session valuable. To keep with the Christmas spirit, every person was greeted with a Santa cap.

We started off with our lead @nravik, talking and introducing the Bangalore leads and getting to know the first timers for the user group meeting. We were excited to know that there were many new members for the meeting. A couple of them even came all the way from Chennai to attend the meeting.

Up next was our first user group case study, which was presented by @Manohar12345. He explained how Alteryx helped in a data investigation engagement and how it seamlessly worked with tableau and power bi for reporting results of text analytics. He also emphasized on how useful the Alteryx community was. He narrated an incident where he was finding it difficult to solve a problem and how he got a reply with the solution in 5 minutes.

After the first use case, we conducted a fun game "Alteryx Taboo". After an exciting 3 rounds the experienced data geeks took over the student groups and edged marginally to victory. The winners were treated with some lovely chocolates.

We then moved on to our next item on the agenda to talk about updates in Alteryx community and few unknown details regarding Alteryx podcast and Alteryx data magazine - Input.

@scolaco explained and introduced to the group about women of analytics and how it has helped women to overcome challenges not just in analytics but in all aspects of their lives.

@ydmuley then introduced Alteryx for good initiatives to the entire group and how our Bangalore user group has touched and transformed lives of students. We got an overwhelming response for Alteryx for good initiatives.

As part of Alteryx for good, a representative of Christ (deemed to be) University Prof. Vinayak shared his thoughts. He went on to thank AFG for providing licenses to their students and how they benefitted greatly from the gesture. He also emphasized on how analytics is critical part of the curriculum. He shared several ideas on how we could take the analytics training to more students and how we could look at training the existing faculty on Alteryx.

Before our final use case, we played another interesting game, "Who am I". After an exciting 2 rounds, the experienced geeks again stole the show.

Our final use case was by @Mariam who talked about how she used Alteryx in helping in consolidating several workbooks and analysing the budget vs actuals. She explained the complex process using a very simple example of watering and paring plants. She talked about it was easy for her to take over an already developed workflow and make changes easily. The session was very interesting and helped in looking at more solutions that can be built using Alteryx at the core.

@nravik and @Manjunath also spoke about how Alteryx certification works and its benefits. They also explained how we did an Alteryx certification event previously and our plans to hold more of such events. They also spoke passionately about the virtual connect we hold.

We closed our user group with a good networking session through which we understood how Alteryx has helped users solve complex data problems. We encouraged them to present few of such cases in the user group meeting so to help everyone in the community.

On that note, let me share a short video on the event.
